Best wishes for 2013

Posted by on Dec 31, 2012 in Blog | 0 comments

Seasons greetings to everyone who have been involved with us in 2012 and previous years. I came back  to UK in November 2012 and will return to Ghana in January 2013. To briefly reflect on the past year ( for details read previous blogs), I spent more time in Ghana, solving some of the problems we had. Nadine ( a volunteer), who spent 3 months working with us, gave a much in depth and detailed report on  the many problems encountered, while teaching in the junior school in Butre. She also spent her other time organising a village wide football match, ( which included a girls team), during...

Posted by on Aug 29, 2012 in Blog | 0 comments

OK………….I am now finding out how to use this new website………so to continue this update blog. I will be returning to Ghana next week September 4th 2012, after being in UK since July 2012…………I had to return to sort out some issues here, and fortunatly that has been a successful experience. Because of the absence of any news on the site since May 2012 I feel there is an urgency about updating the site. So rather than go into to much detail, I am going to try and give a quick run down on what has happened in the last 5...

April/12 UPDATE

Posted by on Apr 15, 2012 in Blog | 0 comments

A quick update while I have a good connection here. Anyway we will resolve that issue. The registration of our new NGO is still proceeding, however we had to build an office (as requested by Social Services) in the compound, that has taken some time, but is...

Long time

Well it has been some time now since I posted anything, mainly because I have been so busy, as usual. This year is special for FOG and me personally. I am taking early retirement from York College at the end of this month and after a busy family schedule in August, I hope to be over in Ghana in September. I am looking forward to managing FOG from Ghana, however I will be leaving the UK end of things in the hands of our good friends Glyn and Eunice, who helped out over in Ghana last year and who still work at York College. The sad news of the unexpected death of Nana Butre recently, has left...
